This is a series of artistic carvings by a Taos woodcarver Terry Wolff. The series includes carvings of spiritual and religious themes that combines mythical beings and symbols with religious subjects. All the works are carved on Juniper which is native to northern New Mexico. The wood I use for these carvings grows at high altitudes and all the wood used is gathered in the Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) Mountains by Jacob Duran and his two sons. When ordering one of these carvings you have to select by the subjects which you desire. Each of the works is slightly different and unique and because each carving is determined by the characteristics shown to me by the grain and patterns in the wood. Therefore, no two works can be the same, your actual carving will be unique and not exactly as the samples which are shown.
