Although northern New Mexico has been known as a Mecca for the visual arts for the past century, it should be noted that during the past several decades the performing arts have made major strives. This includes theater production, movie making, opera, and the recordings of many fine local musicians and song writers. Here is a small but growing sample of works available at Shop Taos. Live Jazz In The Desert with Straight UP A Santa Fe jazz band which can be seen in Taos at the Taos Inn (Better check with them for there schedule). Straight Up has a great sound and this album is a must for your music collection. This CD features Wendy Beach doing her wonderful vocals with Bob Fox on piano, John Belzaguy on bass, John Trentacosta on drums, Michael Morreale on trumpet, and Arlen Asher on the saxophones, clarinet and flute.
